Our Client is a Total Packaging Solutions Company providing comprehensive systems to respond to various customer needs, including product planning and effective production lines, conducting business on a global scale. Our Client is now seeking a Technical Specialist Flexible Packaging (Gravure, Offset and Flexo Printing) reporting to the European Production Technical Manager. This position is a full-time permanent role and will be based at their production site in Kent. Working hours are from 8:00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and from 8:00 am to 3.30 pm on Fridays. This position is based in Kent but will require occasional travel to other group sites in Europe and Internationally. Purpose of Job To work within the Technical Centre organisation undertaking the following tasks: Support the quality and production departments to investigate the route cause and preventative actions for problems and complaints. Help develop ink and substrates to improve product performance within production and at customers. Use analytical tools and equipment to improve production processes and product performance. Accountabilities Working with Quality Department, Technical Department, Production and suppliers to perform improvement analysis Work with all Departments to implement improvements and educate personnel to understand the improvement actions Problem investigation, analysis of raw materials and finished products Keep manager informed of improvements and issues. Personal Characteristics / Experience / Qualifications Prior experience in flexible packaging production Knowledge of Gravure, Offset and Flexo print processes Knowledge of plastic substrates, artwork construction, use of different printing technologies and ink systems, understanding and ability to interpret technical and production data Experience of performing analytical tasks and measurement Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers Picks up technical issues quickly can learn new skills and knowledge. Ability to convey information in a clear and organized manner. Based at Wisbech and reporting into the Operations Manager on a day to day basis, our client is looking to recruit an Engineer. The role will primarily be to provide break down cover for all production machinery and to provide planned preventative maintenance on all production machinery. Key aspects of the role will include o Respond to machinery break down requests from Supervisors and Managers in production. o Prioritise break down requests in line with production requirements. o Provide relevant break down information to the Operations Manager as and when required. o Provide holiday cover in line with production agreement, and provide sickness cover (working or call out) where possible). o Following maintenance work ensure the area affected is left in a clean and tidy state, in line with company hygiene policies. Work in accordance to the company’s health and safety policy at all times. o Input orders of parts correctly onto Prism in line with company policy. o Source cost effective suppliers of machine parts to assist in cost-saving. o Ensure the security of all tools.
