Slitter operator jobs

A Slitter Setter / Slitting Machinist / Slitting Line Setter is required for a large steel processing company based in the Wolverhampton area. Duties include setting and running a wide coil slitting line processing of various steel coils. Position is a permanent contract for the right person, working 3x12hr night shifts 6pm - 6am. Rate of pay depends on experience with a view to increase once fully trained, shift allowance also included for working nights. Full duties include - Setting and running a wide coil slitting line, processing of steel coils Using shimmed / shimless tooling, setting the feed / tools / overarms and separators First off, in process and final quality checks using measuring equipment Loading and unloading the machine with steel coil using a pendant overhead crane Banding, Packing and labeling of processed stock Any other duties as required. Applicants MUST have experience with setting and operating wide coil slitting lines, and must also be able to safely operate a pendant crane. Licences for either pendant crane or counterbalance FLT is advantageous but not essential. Candidates must also be prepared to work fixed Night shifts, 3 nights per week which can rotate and include weekends if required, 6pm - 6am nights, weekends 6am - 6pm. Rate of pay is dependent on the shift pattern, shift allowance is paid at 31% on nights, and 25% on weekends. Position is a permanent contract for the right person, however a temp to perm may be considered.
