JOB SPECIFICATION:

As the Business Support Director, UK Nordics (10 direct reports) you will be tasked with a number of key accountabilities however, the major task and one which will dominate your initial time will be the assessment of the current customer product offering, analysis of how effective this is and ultimately develop a product rationalisation plan:
Pro-actively review the work of the UK Product/Application and Business Improvement Teams using Lean techniques, in order to optimise service levels, rationalise the UK customer product range and optimise profit generated.
Produce a plan which will commercialise the value added services of the customer product applications team. Ensure both internal and external customers understand the value of services and expertise being provided.
Implement processes and policies for new product development, ensuring it is both customer and market driven with the appropriate margins and volumes to warrant investment. Liaise with and influence with the corporate marketing function to ensure the local business interests are fully considered.
Organise and lead cross-functional business teams to: identify business needs and opportunities, communicate proposed service and process improvements and agree and implement solutions which will maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the business unit.

REQUIREMENTS: Business Support Director, UK Nordics
To be successful in your application you will:

Essential:
Hold an MBA, and have post MBA experience that has involved putting into practice the theory you have leant.
Have a proven track record of managing (change and culture management), developing, coaching and growing a team, empowering them to perform and value their expertise.
Experience from a Manufacturing or Engineering business environment.
Heavy exposure to huge projects, reinvigorating buy-in and driving through to completion.
Ability to make strategic decisions with conviction and evidence.
Responsibility, experience and involvement in PL deliverables.


Desirable:
Knowledge or affiliation to the printing industry and in particular the packaging sector (flexo, inks, coatings, UV sheetfed, gravure etc), although FMCG, pharmaceutical or possibly automotive experience will also be considered.
You will be used to six sigma working methodologies and how best the business can use this internally and externally (the business has a number of green and black belts).
Marketing management experience

You character must be - vibrant, organised, driven, resilient, decisive and strategic.

The UK / Nordic MD is based in Manchester, and so it will be necessary to work from these offices regularly, perhaps up to 3 or 4 times a week. However, the Company does have a number of other offices throughout the UK.

Desired Skills Experience An experienced production engineer, mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, pneumatics, welding background with the technical ability and strong diagnostic skills to problem solving effectively and efficiently. Have the ability to respond quickly and to work under pressure. Ensure that the machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard and be pro-active in the reduction of downtime. Have a good attitude to work, be co-operative, good attention to detail, keep records and forms up to date. Therefore applicants must be able to embrace a proactive work ethic and demonstrate previous experience working on high-speed machinery within a, packaging or a similar manufacturing environment. Lean Manufacturing would be an advantage. - Job Description Initially a hands on position maintaining the company’s wide range of production equipment to ensure minimal down time and high levels of productivity and quality. You must have suitable qualifications to fulfil this roll. As the role develops you will be required to further develop the machinery and process equipment. Put in place preventative maintenance routines and ensure that as the company sales continue to hit target, that the machinery and additional support engineers to be employed at planned key implementation points are suitably managed. Our client is currently recruiting for a Production Mechanical Electronic Engineer to join their rapidly expanding packaging manufacturing company in Skipton. They see this role as the next step for the right candidate on the career ladder, within 3-5 years managing a team of engineers to drive the continuous improvement activities within the business. As a fast moving package manufacturing organisation the company have improvement activities and they are now looking for an ambitious person to work alongside the management team. Job Description Maintaining the company’s wide range of production equipment to ensure minimal down time and high levels of productivity and quality. You must have suitable qualifications to fulfil this role. Equipment to include: Bobst Die Cutters Two colour Flexo Printer with Rotary Die Cutter Folder Gluer’s Robots Auto Packers/Banding Machines Pallet Wrapper and Line Guillotine/Round Corner Machine Lift tables Electronic Testing (PAT Testing) Compressed Air System Produce production documentation including BRC HS Liaising with the Production Team Leader to ensure adequate stocks of components to meet the plan. Desired Skills and Experience An experienced Production Engineer, mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, pneumatics, welding background with the technical ability and strong diagnostic skills to problem solving effectively and efficiently. Have the ability to respond quickly and to work under pressure. Ensure that the machinery is maintained and repaired to a high standard and be pro-active in the reduction of downtime. Have a good attitude to work, be co-operative, be a doer, good attention to detail, keep records and forms up to date. Therefore applicants must be able to embrace a proactive work ethic and demonstrate previous experience working on high speed machinery within a packaging or similar manufacturing environment. Lead manufacturing would be an advantage. Do you believe you have?: Good all round general maintenance skills working on high speed machinery within a packaging or similar manufacturing environment. Knowledge of PLC controls, pneumatics, electrical and machine maintenance. Must be flexible with a view to work shift work and additional hours. Provide support to production, increasing machine availability and performance.
