A Slitter Setter Operator / Slitting Machinist is required for a large steel processing company based in the Kingswinford area of the West Midlands. Duties include setting and running a wide coil slitting line, processing mild and aluminium coils. Position is a permanent contract after a 12 week probation period. Rate of pay starts at £8 p/h, with a view to increase after the probation period. Working 39hrs per week on days Mon to Fri. Full duties include - Setting and running a wide slitting line, processing mild and aluminium steel coils. Using shimmed tooling, setting the separators, blades, overarms and speeds First off, in process and final quality checks of the steel working to very close tolerances Loading and unloading the machine with steel coil using a pendant overhead crane banding up and packing of steel ready for dispatch Loading and unloading vehicles with stock when required Applicants MUST have experience with setting and operating slitting lines, using shimmed tooling. Applicants must also have a background within steel processing, operating overhead cranes and banding / packing steel. Any licenses for overhead crane or forklift truck is advantageous, but not essential. The position is a permanent contract, after a 12 week probation is completed. Rate of pay starts at £8 p/h, with a view to increase after probation is completed.
