An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Mac Operator / Pre-Press Operator / Reprographics Assistant to join the busy reprographics studio of a global manufacturing company whose European headquarters are based in Cwmbran, South Wales. Salary is 21,000 per annum plus benefits. Job Title: Mac Operator / Pre Press Operator / Reprographics Assistant Salary: 21,000 per annum Benefits: 28 Days holiday, Free Parking, canteen facilities, discretionary bonus scheme Location: Cwmbran / Newport / Cardiff The duties of the Mac Operator / Pre-Press Operator / Reprographics Assistant will include creating final customer proofs from the supplied raw artwork, preparing print ready repro files ready for press (stepping, trapping etc), positive film / flexo plate checking and collating job bags ready for production. Profile: Must have strong reprographic skills and be able to use Illustrator Previous experience within a print environment is essential, preferably within manufacturing Must have experience of Artpro software or Adobe Illustrator Ability to work to deadlines You will be proficient in Adobe Illustrator or Artpro and a good knowledge of Backstage / Deskpack would be a distinct advantage. You should be used to working within a pressurised manufacturing environment, be resourceful and flexible, with excellent attention to detail. Ideally you will also have an understanding of print processes including Flexo, Flatbed / Rotary Screen or Roto Gravure. Our client has asked us to state that this is a strictly non-design role. You will have worked in a busy pre-press department / production environment previously and have experience of working with blue chip clients. One of the UK's leading carton manufacturers is recruiting Working in partnership with SLS Recruitment, they are looking to recruit a Flexo Label Printer to join their team in Crewe, Cheshire. Within this role your primary responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): Setting up Gallus press with a scantec vision system according to company guidelines for each job. Mount plates, set up and breakdown jobs. Get the very best out of the technology supplied to you and deliver continuous improvement in terms of quality and productivity. Demonstrate personal initiative and good team skills. Keep work area clean and organised to produce quality labels in a timely manner. Perform routine press maintenance, upkeep and cleaning. To be considered a successful candidate for this position, you must have a strong background in water based and UV printing onto papers and synthetics. Previous experience in the label industry is essential to this role as my client requires someone who can hit the ground running with no training. Previous experience operating flexo label printing machinery is highly beneficial. This position covers Day shifts on a Double Days basis (12 hour shifts). There is a basic salary on offer of 21,944 15% shift allowance taking the total package up to 25,235. There is also 25 days holiday bank holidays and a company pension scheme.
